I succumb...

Sorry, but with much regret I am having to institute Word Verification. Today my emails tells me there have been SIXTEEN spam put on my blog. Somewhere. Not on the index page, so they could be anywhere. Arguably, this doesn't matter then, but it bugs me. So, WV as of now. Sorry!

I'm actually surprised that you held out this long. I haven't found that it annoys the regular posters, so all in all, it should be a good solid win.

No problem, Mary. But I have a question related to another technical blogging issue. Why is your font so big now? Did you get complaints from the blind or something??

I was wondering that too, Mim.

But one doesn't like to ask those personal questions [chuckle]

Simon: That's part of why I'm initiating WV now, and not earlier: I seem to have my little crew of reliable commenters, so I need be less concerned about discouraging interaction - which, as you know, is a key attraction of a blog for me.

Mim, CQ, CK:Why is my font so big? It is??? To me, it looks just exactly the same as it ever has. Is it just this post that's oversized for you, or did it start a while ago? Is it all the font, or just the heading? (If it's just the heading, I might know.) However, since I can see no difference, I have no explanation for this at all. Simon, you're the computer guru - any ideas?

SNMartha: That's the best WV acronym I've seen in a long time! Well done!

Michael: Thanks. When the spammers can't get through, it's nice to know you can rely on your commenters.

Font's least in Internet Explorer. Although it is great for people wearing bifocals...

....not that there is anything wrong with wearing byfocals....

anybody spell "byfocals?" :)

CK: Starting when? And the entire thing, not just one bit or another? Which browser are you using?

MrsA: Well, thank goodness for that! Which browser are you using?

Michael: This is very silly. I have changed absolutely NOTHING. I think the problem is in the browser. Dump that dopey Explorer and download you some Mozilla, man!

I noticed the problem as well. I had the large font with both I.E. at work and Firefox at home.

Font's big at my house, too. I had the exact same thought as MIM. Started Friday or Saturday, can't remember which.

I nip backwqards & forwards between Mozilla & IE, depending on which computer I'm on. No problems noticed either way.

ooh, actually, having just loaded up IE on the other computer, your font is looking a little on the large side now!

Simon: Any idea why this is happening, then? Seems everyone but Mrs A. is having the same problem - like you, she uses both browsers. I am doing nothing different than I ever have done.

Cheryl: No, no complaints from the blind - they all love it. It's the rest of you who are giving me grief... And I'm baffled. I'd say it must be a blogger thing, but it seems to be just me. Yet Simon and Mrs. A have confirmed it's not a browser thing, either. Weird.

MrsA: Whatever it is, I want it sorted out, but since I haven't done a single thing differently, I have no idea where to start!

S'okay. Over on my blog, we've made a game about making words (sometimes slightly off-color) out of the WV's.

Do you suppose some of us (starting with me) need to go put a life on layaway somewhere?

Just went back to your commenters and discovered it wasn't original with me. Darn it. It's still a good game. krmdvm - nope, nothing springs to mind.
