My Fridge

I have a fridge magnet collection. I'm note sure if I started the it, or if it was thrust upon me, but I have quite a few now, and there seems to be a theme to most of them: My two favourites are "I was put on this planet to..." and "Can't think...blood rushing..." My least favourite is, "You spend the first two years..." Which do you like best? (If you have trouble reading them, click on the picture for the larger version.)

I *knew* we were kindred spirits! I have many of the same magnets!

I think Blood Rushing is my fave of those.

I also have "damn straight I keep score" "Explain to me again why I need a man" and I understand the concept of cooking&cleaning. Just not as it appplies to me."

My entire kitchen is decorated in Ann Trainoresque snark, actually.

My favorite is the childproofing one. I might appreciate some of the others more if I had children of my own.

The clown one? I think it's kinda creepy. I guess that's the point . . . .

It's a tossup between childproofing and "we spend the first two years", etc.

With my gang, I can identify with both.

And of course I have the two thirty year olds right here in town. Still saying "mommy, would you?"

The two I don't like are:
Teenagers, I can't relate
and the clown, he kind of freaks me out.

I know my father's favorite is "you spend the first two..." (I think I've heard that one all my life!)
My favorite though has to be the childproofing!
It's to get to bed...I just typed "childprodding" and had to go back and fix that.
Any guesses as to how today went? ;)

"I child-proofed my house but they still get in." I almost bought that one for myself.

My favorite is definitely the childproofing one! I've got one at home that says "Wow! I get to give birth AND change diapers!"

Not crazy about the "M" is for Mother one. Reminds me too much of the signs at the sink at work "I am not your mother! Pick up after yourself" or some other variation of same.

I love the evolution one and the child-proofing. These are great!
I have one that says "Domestically challenged."

The childproofing one is a classic! LOVE it and dont we all feel that way?!?!? :) However, I must say that my fave is the "I was put on this planet...". My daughter is only 2 years old but her dad and I are already racking up the embarassing pictures and home videos to show all her boyfirends in high school. As parents, that is one of our duties!!! :)

MsS: Aren't they fun? Imagine my delight when a store opened up just around the corner that sells a lot of Ann Taintor!! Though, as you undoubtedly know, these all aren't her.

Sharkey: The clown one is, in fact, my son's. From him, I understand it's a reference to a Simpson's episode in which Homer builds a crib for Bart, (a crib? I think so) decorated with a demonic looking clown that scared the poop out of poor baby Bart. He muttered that phrase over and over while cowering in his crib. Adam thinks this is very funny.

Granny: I'll just be you relate! You have kids and kids and kids!

Peter: Okay, but I wanted to know which you like BEST.

M.Tina: It's a good one, particularly for those in the throes of it.

Lorykc: "Childprodding". I love it! I think I spend a large percentage of my day doing just that! LOL I hope today goes better for you!

Cheryl: That was one I bought myself. Many of these were purchased for me. The teenagers one was given me by my 12-year-old daughter. It's good that she's clear on her future!

AnneV: I have that one, too, as a post card. I love it!

I suppose the "m is for mother" one has a different emphasis when it's intended for children, as opposed to adults. (Except that, of course, M is for both, and then what does it mean??)

Kittenpie: The evolution one. I wrote about it before, and was astonished when a couple of readers didn't realise it was tongue-in-cheek, and thought this meant I was genuinely opposed to evolution. I think it's much more of a live debate in the States than it is in Canada...

ScSm: I refuse to be held hostage to the delicate sensibilities of a teen. Honestly, they're so squeamish, you wouldn't be able to do anything some days! Better just to flaunt your uncoolness and enjoy their squirms of mortification. (It's small payback for all your sleepless night, all those times you were pee'd or pooped or barfed on, all the outings that were cancelled because of fevers...)

I personally like "remember, the more you do..." because it salves my underachiever mentality. I have one of a 50's mom giving the finger that says, "Just because I'm a mom doesn't mean I care!" Love that one too!
