She has her Mother's Sense of Humour

Arthur is bopping himself repeatedly in the head with an empty plastic bottle. "Hey, Emma, listen!" Bop! Bop! Bop! "Where's that hollow sound coming from?" She grins wickedly. "Well, I don't know, Arthur. I suppose it could be coming from that empty bottle, because I don't think there's anything else empty around here..."

Wow---you could get all psychological on that one!! Maybe this is the beginning of HIS need for attention from little girls and so he must show off. However, SHE is not fooled and must make a smart comment while turning around with a flick of her hair!

Oh how quickly they grow up!!! :)

Nice to meet you last night!

About Kinki's: No worries! About Friday-- can we do it Sat. or another night? Have a retreat wrap-up dinner Friday night at Femmes Rouges or some such place...

I like that she shared the joke with herself and you without being so obvious that Arthur might know what she was talking about. Funny, but not mean.

ScSM: You may not have been reading long enough to know that Emma is my youngest daughter; she'll be thirteen this summer. This would be the way a small boy would seek to impress, this is true. We can hope that when he grows up, his techniques become a little more sophisticated...

MsS: I look forward to seeing her deal with an actual boyfriend. I'm thinking he'd better have some brains in his head, or he won't last long.

Kittenpie: She's a nice girl, my Emma. I don't think I've ever seen her be mean to the tots. Not that they don't annoy her bytimes, but she's always kind.

Granny: She does have her mother's sense of humour!!

Lory: [grin] Made me laugh, too.
