Toy Fairies

The toy fairies are at work in this neighbourhood. Over the last six weeks, I have received: These items are put on my porch. I open my door in the morning, and there is yet another gift! Woo-eee! Some are from families whose children have outgrown these toys; some are from families who are moving; some were from an older couple who are moving, and whose grandchildren have outgrown the toys. They could sell some of these things at a local upscale consignment shop and get a good return, but they choose to give them to me. What a great neighbourhood, huh?

The Toy Fairy is responsible for finding toys a good home. At our house if toys don't get picked up the Toy fairy may show up and take them to a home where they are cared for and put away at night.
Yours sounds like that kind of place.

That is really cool. I love that people in your neighbourhood share toys. I bet that your kids enjoy it too. New toys (even if previously used) are always intriguing to kids!

There's a Toy Fairy? My heart just grew two sizes.

(And I second SS's question - is there a wine fairy?)

What wonderful neighbors!

(Have you heard anything else? IS there a wine fairy, too? This post has brought inspired such hope today! ;)

We have a toy fairy in our neighborhood. It has been great!

(Another vote for a wine fairy)

Peter: Well... They get played with, hard. They get loved, a lot! They get put away...mostly. But thanks for the vote of confidence!

Sunshine: No wine fairy. I did get a bottle yesterday as a going-away gift from Sam's mom - not to worry: he'll be back in September! We do, however, have a beer man.

Angela: Yup. It's a good neighbourhood, and the kids don't care in the slightest if the toy's a bit battered. It'll only look worse after all my lot's been at it for a bit!

2badladies: There is! Isn't it cool?? I love this neighbourhood! No wine fairy, but see link to Beer Man, in response to Sunshine's comment, above.

Anonymous: Isn't it, though?

Lorykc: Wonderful, indeed. Sorry about the lack of Wine Fairy, though. Maybe YOUR neighbourhood can get THAT one!

Twoboysmom: There are TWO Toy Fairies? Who knew? Keep thinking happy thoughts, and maybe the Wine Fairy will come to you, too!
