A childcare provider is expected to be a superhuman mix of the Madonna and Mary Poppins, ever patient, loving, kind, always delighting in the sweetness of her charges. I don't do such a bad job, all in all, and it's far more likely the parents than the children who strain my sanity most days. But I'm here to tell you: It Ain't ALL Mary Poppins...
I'm that paradoxical thing, a pragmatic optimist. I take genuine pleasure in my days, and almost always see the glass as half full, but whereas an optimist might have idyllic notions of childhood and children, a pragmatic optimist sees them, warts and all, is unshocked by the warts and simply cheerfully gets on with the job of a little wart-removal.
Merry Christmas, Everyone! I may be by from time to time, but my plans include only savouring these days with my family - and a little time to myself, too! I hope you all enjoy the season, too, each in your own way.
